Dear Colleagues: This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers this fall...

Maine Geographic Alliance is offering four FREE ArcGIS Online Institutes for Educators in Machias, Oct 14; Presque Isle, Nov 4; Farmington, Nov 18 and in Orono on Dec 2

PLEASE FORWARD TO INTERESTED EDUCATORS!

ArcGIS Online is the premier online mapping tool that helps teachers and students go places and easily see patterns in data.  During this 6-hour institute, you will quickly become comfortable with this free, powerful online mapping tool utilizing only a web browser on your Mac, PC or tablet.

This is a hands-on workshop that offers practice and inspiration using ArcGIS Online to create Story Maps and collect field data. You will learn how to construct a place-based, inquiry project using your community data. Attendees will learn how to create, save, and share Story Maps and how to manage their organization account. We will provide a step-by-step guide for practice at home and school.

Through the ConnectED initiative, the White House has challenged industries to help transform education. In support of ConnectED, ESRI’s Jack Dangermond stepped up to the challenge and donated an ArcGIS Online Organization account to every U.S. K-12 school.

Check it out at http://www.esri.com/industries/education/software-bundle#

We will help you successfully process an ArcGIS Online Organization request and also show you how to manage your account. All workshop activities and take away lessons are linked to C3, Common Core and NGS Geography for Life2.

There is no cost to the attendees--lunch will be provided. Don’t miss this powerhouse event of the year!
