Dear Friends of Mainers with Disabilities,

Thu March 30 at 1 pm the Health Coverage, Insurance and Financial Services Committee (HCIFS) will have public hearing on
LD 1041 An Act to Ensure Dental Insurance Coverage for Certain Adults with Disabilities

This bill would allow adults with disabilities who are unable to sustain themselves through employment to stay on their parents dental insurance.

It is an extension of a successful bill that was signed just last year for Maine to join the 40 other states who let this same set of adults with disabilities to stay on parents *health* insurance past age 26.

Please consider testifying in favor of LD 1041 to also increase access to *dental* care for adults with significant disabilities. MaineCare coverage of dental care is great, but the unfortunate reality is that many dentists limit the # of MaineCare patients they accept. LD 1041 would therefore increase access to dental care.
