It always seems when I go on one of these trips I always feel like
I've brought too much stuff, for a 6 day I usually end up bringing 2
duffle bags and a bookbag {small backpack}, one bag for clothes the
other for underclothes and a backpack for toiletries, film, shoes ,a
book or two. Any advice

Packing for a six day windjammer sail is the biggest challenge for
most people. The best approach is to think like a backpacker. I'm not
a camper, but I looked at a backpacking book before I sailed. In my
case I try to combine things into two bags. Whatever doesn't fit
doesn't go. The toughest thing is the shoes. It's harder early and
late in the season because of the weather. One strategy is to get
supplies(film, toiletries.reading) in Maine and not bring most of
them back. You can buy a paperback in Rockland or Camden and just
stuff it somewhere when you leave. There are some things you can't
leave out (weather gear, shoes). If you can do with one pair of jeans,
one extra pair and a few re-wearable shirts you'll be ahead of the
curve. Just stuff them in and go.
