At 5:00 pm south of Pine Point Road on Scarborough Marsh identified 2 Black Crowned Night Herons, 2 Glossy Ibis, 3 Eastern Phoebe's, 4 Cattle Egrets, 4 Snowy Egrets, 1 male Flicker, 2 Belted Kingfishers and 6 Green Winged Teal. On the north side in waterway near Audobon, pair of Common Merganser's. Have birded on the marsh for 10 years, first time seeing Common Merganser. It was very much worth the 32 degrees!!!

What I saw were clearly Snowy Egrets. Black bills and legs.
Tragic update. The Osprey nest on platform in bay by Mercy hospital is Gone! I assume heavy winds last night blew it off platform. There is a very distraught Osprey on bare platform, wondering what happened. A second Osprey is perched on nest on I/295 airport light array, so hopefully will nest. Going to Mercy Pond to check on BCNH
