Hello

I was out of the state the week before last and when I got back was worried that I would have to play catch up but for better or worse the weather has kept things kind of slow around Portland.

This week we've had good numbers of Ruby-crowned Kinglets and Palm Warblers, some Yellow-rumped Warblers and the Tree Swallows have officially moved back to River Point. Barn Swallows are back, as are House Wrens which we had this AM at River Point singing their little hearts out. Pine Warblers are claiming their territories in Evergreen Cemetery.

Highlights for me around Portland this past week have included:

Brown Thrasher and Eastern Towhee, April 24, River Point Conservation Area
Black-crowned Night-Heron, April 26th, Saccarappa Cemetery
Rusty Blackbirds, May 1, River Point Conservation Area

Be well

PS - Are people using eBird Trip Reports? I'd love to see some if you are. Here is mine from my trip to Kansas https://ebird.org/me/tripreport/49007 It isn't the most exciting and I was very bad about count/estimating numbers (sorry eBird lords!), but they seem like a fun way to share what people see.
