Yesterday, was a "stellar" day for birding. Started off the day by seeing both the Baltimore Oriole and the Bullock's Oriole at the house in Nobleboro, ME. The first one spotted was the Baltimore that came into the large green feeder about 0720 in the morning. After feeding at the feeder, it flew off and a few minutes later, the Bullock's appeared at the same feeder. After feeding, it flew to the ground, preened/flashed some tail feathers and then took off. I waited around for another 30 minutes but they did not reappear. It was zero degrees at the time so I decided to leave as I was freezing. These are relatively easy birds to see as the homeowners have the feeders in their small front yard and you can stand on the side of the road and see them easily when they come in.

From there, moved on to find the Steller's Eagle. Spent time looking for it at Ft. William Henry, Pemaquid Point, and Boothbay area when the word went out that it was at the fort so I returned there and saw it. It was quite a distance across the water from the lower parking lot in a tree. Not easily visible with binoculars but a good look through a spotting scope.

As an added bonus, one birder spotted a dovekie in the water (out near the solitary. moored sailboat) that was repeatedly diving. Again, a spotting scope worked best as it was pretty far off. A nice look at dovekie and a lifebird for me.
