Hooded Mergansers in Lewiston

Seen around 11 am today at the Bates College pond (near corner of College and Russell Streets):

11 Hooded Mergansers, including 8 males.

They were gone 15 minutes later.

In past years they have often congregated with many other ducks on nearby Sabattus Pond (Rte 126).
