Hi everyone,

Yesterday afternoon I was at the Scarborough Marsh and once again I was not dissapointed as far as enormous masses of blackbirds. A flock of 2000+ Grackles and Red-Winged Blackbirds flew over Rte 1 near Anjon's upon sundown. Appeared to be 60 to 70% Grackles. And I got to follow them to their landing spot which collectively hosted at least 5000 blackbirds! I parked near the flock and walked as close as I could get. The trees were shoulder to shoulder with birds and the sound was LOUD and incredible! I then watched a continous flow of birds line up on practically every cattail I could see. I never spent as much time here as I have from last July on, so I'm quickly getting the picture that this is normal here in March. Next month I will be starting my 4th year as a birder and I hope that my appreciation for such things will never diminish. I don't see how it could.
