Monhegan has had a Great Egret and 2 Killdeer by the meadow this week. I saw the first Killdeer April 1st. I heard my first Kingfisher of the year yesterday morning. We were inundated with Kinglets around April 5th, Cowbirds April 7th and Flickers around April 13th. A Mockingbird has been near the meadow since February. Several Woodcocks stayed over this winter which is a first for me to see. The ground never fully froze. Monhegan Brewery started their FOY batch this weekend.
