The alewives are running on the Sabasticook.  I can tell that because
there are eagles going up and down the river and eagles sitting on trees
below the Benton Falls Dam.  I just watched an osprey and eagle in a dog
fight.  I have seen as many as 40 unique eagles in one day on the
Sebasticook when the fish are running.  I have three pair of blue birds
in the tree swallow nests that are not being used.  I have a few barn
swallows.  I have only confirmed 1 pair.  It is sad that the barn
swallow and tress swallow population is dropping.  I do have one flicker
pair nesting somewhere near by.  I see them often.  This is a new
situation.
