Visitors:
22 people visited the hawk watch today.

Weather:
Clear skies, sunshine, good visibility, and steady northwest winds throughout the day. It was a great day to be outside!

Raptor Observations:
Most of the migration today occurred in the morning and mid-day with a few species recorded in the afternoon hours. Almost all migrating birds were observed far away today, although a couple Turkey Vultures passed relatively closer to the summit.

Non-raptor Observations:
Quite a few migrating passerine species were observed from the hawk watch today; Most of which were blackbirds. The day ended with 25 total species. Birds deemed migrating included: 40 Common Grackles 8 Red-winged Blackbirds 18 European Starlings 1 Eastern Bluebird 7 American Goldfinches 1 Purple Finch 15 Cedar Waxwings 6 American Robins

Predictions:
Although not ideal, the north wind may be light enough tomorrow to produce a decent flight, especially ahead of the next approaching weather system that may slow things down a bit for the rest of the week.
