to Maine-birds
Hi all,
Tom Johnson and I birded from Portland to Scarborough and then north to Pownal today, finding little "new," but doing well cleaning up many of the areas's continuing treats. These included:
- 6 CANVASBACKS (CANV), Presumpscot River from Rte 9, Falmouth.
- 1 first winter male NORTHERN SHOVELER (NSHO) Riverbank Park, Westbrook.
- drake KING EIDER (KIEI) from Prout's Neck Yacht Club (with Mike Fahay).
- LARK SPARROW (LASP) Cape Elizabeth Greenbelt Trail between Village Crossings and the Cape E High School. Still coming to the feeder at the mint green house, but also at a feeder next to the porch at the brown house to the right (of the mint green one).
An exhaustive search for Pine Grosbeak was fruitless...pardon the pun.
-Derek
