Morning All

We’ve been hearing this call for a long time this Summer and at least as late as a few days ago.

It’s always down by the water’s edge on a small inlet of the Saco called Josie’s Brook on River Road in Standish.

We've only heard it for half an hour or so around sunset and not at any other times. A simple two or three peep note call.

A Woodcoock flew over us evening from the general direction but was probably unrelated as we haven’t found any of the Woodcock sonograms at the McAuley Library matching this one.

Is it a bird or a frog call?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks all for the replies!

Solitary Sandpiper looks the most likely and we’ve certainly seen a pair there recently.

Perhaps it’s just too noisy for us to hear it at other times than dusk.
