As noted in the Wiki, you can't do remote sync (Caldav/SyncML/ActiveSync) via rpc.php if you're using transparent authentication. I'd really like to have an SSO setup so that I can secure non-Horde applications without requirng a separate sign-in for users but to still allow calendar/contact sync to people's phones. The composite driver appears to allow separate backends for administrative purposes and regular login which leads me to ask how hard it would be (and how one could go about) setting up a system that allows transparent authentication for the web-interface but password-based authentication (with an SQL/imap/etc backend) for syncing via rpc.php.

Apologies if I'm rehashing an old question, but couldn't really find anything on the subject when I went poking around.

Thanks,

Seth Green
