I suppose this is a dumb question, but I can't find info on it
anywhere (including the FAQ and related sites)...

How big a computer would I need to serve, say 500 simultaneous
connections? 1000? Each connection would be downloading a 7MB file
over the period of an hour. No directory listing, searching, other
services (outside of basic ones).

I'm thinking of a Sun Ultra something-or-other with xxxx memory and
yyyy CPUs. I've got disk, connectivity, etc. covered.

What are others running/supporting?

Any input is _greatly_ appreciated.

Larry,

Check out the following article:
http://www.sunworld.com/swol-04-1999/swol-04-silicon.html

It goes into the hardware that the people at the WuArchive are using, and
I beleive they have capacity above and beyone what you require. Amazingly
it doesn't require alot of hardware.
