Hey,
=20
I got an error in 'make' :=20

Background
-------------------
I have net-snmp-5.2.1 source installed on my Linux system.
I'd like to install net-snmp-5.3 source to a different PATH so I can
still use the 5.2.1 if something goes wrong.
=20
my .config line is:
=20
./configure --with-mib-modules=3D"agentx" \
--prefix=3D"/usr/local/net-snmp-5.3" \
--program-suffix=3D"_5.3" \
\
--with-persistent-directory=3D"/var/net-snmp-5.3"\
--with-sys-location=3D"def-location"\
--with-sys-contact=3D"no-contact"\
--with-default-snmp-version=3D"1"\
--with-logfile=3D"/var/log/snmpd-5.3.log"
=20
My question:
-------------------
1) Is it because of the ' --prefix=3D"/usr/local/net-snmp-5.3" ' ?
2) any ideas?
=20
thanks,
Erez Makavy

Just install the "beecrypt-devel" RPM package.

Hey,

1) Is the beecrypt-devel rpm a new dependecy of version 5.3? (what new
feature require it?)
2) Is this beecrypt-devel package requiered for run-time operatio of an
agent?

Thanks,
Erez.

On most Linux distros the host/hr_swinst MIB module (implementing
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSWInstalled) requires librpmio which (at least on
RedHat/Fedora) is linked against libbeecrypt. If you use dynamic linking
when compiling net-snmp (which is the default), then this becomes a
compile time *and* runtime requirement.
