I tried sending email to majo...@modssl.org and
majo...@master.modssl.org and unsubscribing to modssl-users and
modssl-users-l and I tried unsubscribing from the website, and I still
get a ton of bounces for each email I send to the list.

But perhaps I am unsubscribed but the list accepts email from
non-subscribers, and still is sending out my emails.

I'll just wait and see if I keep getting copies of other people's
unsubscribe requests.

Well, maybe I did successfully unsubscribe.

Since I did all my attempts, I have not gotten any other mail via the
list -- just bounces that come directly back to me from other members,
and emails that are sent directly to me.

So maybe sending email to the following did actually unsubscribe me. I
did eventually get a confirmation

majo...@modssl.org, majo...@master.modssl.org

With the lines:

unsubscribe modssl-users
unsubscribe modssl-users-l

I did eventually get a confirmation from majordomo that said:

>>>> >>>> unsubscribe modssl-users
Succeeded.

**** unsubscribe: unknown list 'modssl-users-l'.

So maybe just sending

unsubscribe modssl-users

to

majo...@modssl.org

with an empty subject line may actually work. I'll know more tomorrow.

Yeah, I don't know if it got pwned or it was just abandoned or what. I
don't remember ever signing up, and certainly have not got emails in a
LONG time (if ever) from it, so I don't know what to say. Otherwise,
it's essentially functioning, but it has a lot of invalid addresses
added into it, which makes me think maybe someone hacked it and inserted
a spamlist as the list of subscribers in order to use it as a free spam
broadcaster.
