Well i have run
newaliases
postfix reload
postfix flush
mailq
still the same message in the mailq .alias database
unavailable.This happens only for local mails.and i
dont see any mails for the users in
/var/mail/usernames

i am enclosing the output of the following command
postconf | grep alias
alias_database = dbm:/etc/mail/aliases
alias_maps = dbm:/etc/mail/aliases, nis:mail.aliases
allow_mail_to_commands = alias,forward
allow_mail_to_files = alias,forward
expand_owner_alias = no
newaliases_path = /usr/bin/newaliases
what do i infer from that ?

Make sure that /etc/mail/aliases exists.
touch /etc/mail/aliases
newaliases
should do the trick.
