OT: underscore and hyphen

Just to muddy the waters a bit:

Underscore, hyphen, and many other interesting characters are legal in
domain names. However, _hostnames_ can only contain numbers, letters,
and hyphen. Well, and period, the component separator :-)

("hostname" is a subset of "domain name"...)
