STOP HIJACKING THREADS.
Extended SMTP (ESMTP), sometimes referred to as Enhanced SMTP, is a
definition of protocol extensions to the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
standard. Google "ESMTP" for more information.
You are pasting what appears to be some portion of a 220 banner. Paste the
entire thing or provide more context for additional assistance.

I meant more what is the Nemesis part. What kind of mail server is that?
Thanks for your reply. :)
Nemesis is the product name of a SMTP server built by a German provider.
They ran their own system because they couldn't find something that would suit
their needs.

Thats exactly what 'hijacking' is, and it isn't funny... haha

I think most if not all smtp servers can customize the banner to say
whatever they want, so you can't really tell anything specific/precise
about a server jujst from the banner it provides.
You'd need to provide the responses from a telnet session to get any
kind of meaningful idea...

Ralf! You got your crystall ball fixed!
But seriously... there is nothing stopping anyone else from customizing
their banner to show the same thing, right?

Indeed.
Sure. You should keep "ESTMP" in your banner - the rest is up to you.
Add

Lay back and wait for some nerd having fun with your response. Or save
the time, enjoy the weekend, drink some beer, do some sport - get a
live ;-)
Cheers,

I meant a session where you actually submit mail, and make submissions
that will fail.
You can tell a lot from the error messages...
