MacMini G4 and DVD Playback

I recently got a hold of a Mac Mini G4 and have been playing around a
bit with OpenBSD 4.6 while I wait for 4.7 to get shipped. During that
time I noticed that DVD Playback was rather slow and unreliable.

The /var/log/Xorg.0.log file seems to imply that there is no hardware
acceleration taking place since it cannot find the /dev/drm0 device.
That device is listed on the radeon(4) man page (which is not included
with my install) but I quickly deduced that this seems to be a
i386/amd64 specific addition.

So my question is. Is there a way to get a MacMini to play back a DVD
without dragging down the system performance? Any help no this would
be appreciated!
