Hi,
I am trying to install OpenBSD via a local ftp server using an SMC
EtherEZ card, but at about 6.5Mb into the ftp bit, it decides to stop
transferring, and hangs.
I have to get the card recognised by using UKC and the we0 driver, and
I think this is where the problem lies. The card is configured to use
IRQ 7, I/O 0x260, access is not memory mapped. However, UKC's default
for the we0 is set on a memory mapped address (0xd0000). When it asks
for the we0 parameters, I put in the IRQ and I/O values, and change the
address to -1 (none). However, this causes the card to remain
unrecognised on boot up.
Leaving the address in results in the previously mentioned hang. Also,
attempting to get the card to use 0xd0000 (or any other address for that
matter) in memory mapped mode with the DOS setup program, is impossible,
as every address is reported as being used.

I would be really grateful if I could hear from any similar
experiences, particularly with the SMC EtherEZ cards!

Regards,
Alex
