libgcc and a broken LibX port

I'm trying to install something and it needs to be compiled with gcc?

Anyway it is asking for libgcc. So, I looked around on the internet
looking for which program would supply a libgcc thingy and all I've
found was LibX the development version.

I checked the ports and there it was ... well ... it's set to broken so
I can't use it.

I checked freshports ... also marked as broken there.

Which other program ... which is hopefully not broken ... would give me
this libgcc thingy?
