I recieved an Intergraph TDZ2000 GT1, dual 700Mhz with onboard
(symbios) 860, and a 896.
Awhile ago, I attempted to install 6.0 (release) and the 896 wasn't
found. I read a bit about FreeBSD and how userconfig was taken out of
production after FBSD4.9. Just for a hoot I decided to attempt to
install using 4.9 Upon doing so, FBSD4.9 could see the 896..
Since then, 6.1 (release) has came out, and so I have ISO's of that,
inwhich I'm currently using on the 860 and a 2GB HD.
Obviously, I would like to have 6.1 on the 896 controller, as the HD's
are bigger, faster, yadda, yadda.
So, there's the dilemma. 4.9 on the fast HD's, or 6.1 on slow HD's...
:)
Hence why I'm turning to here..
If anyone is interested in this, verbose output from my dmesg (4.9 &
6.1), MPTable, PCIconf, and scanPCI have already been posted to...

Hints, tips, suggestions, heck, even guesses at this point would be
appreciated!
Thank-you in advance.
~Michael.
..Essentially the second PCI Bridge isn't found.. or, well, it's kinda
ignored. <shrugs> Starting from pcib0.. and a pci0 bus and some
pci0 devices, to pcib1, a pci1 bus and devices, then skips to pcib3,
and sets up the pci3 bus. (See bottom of message for edited dmesg..)
I *really* don't know where to turn to with regards to this.. perhaps
m.f.hardware isn't the place.. Perhaps I need a place that deals more
with the low level code?? (Suggestions? ..besides stop responding to
myself..)
Are the bridges probed for the address? Are the numbers assigned
according to what's in the MP Table?
Is there some loader.conf tunable (hw.pci.*.irq=..) that can be tweaked
from looking at the $PIR table?
Can someone explain what is going on in the table? (How to interpret?)
i.e...
Location Bus Device Pin Link IRQs
slot 15 1 0 A 0x10 3 4 5 6 7 10 12
Is there anyway to find out what slot/bus is attached to what piece of
hardware??
Alright, I think that's enough hair pulling for today. ;)
Cheers...
~M.
