any ideas?
Mr Austin
You seem to be sending the same e-mails with dates in the past. No-one
will bother to look for anything that old.
Why not set up your date and time properly
Thanks
Rob
The emails are not from him. They are being forwarded to the list by
"Mary Compton" <mcsp...@centurytel.net>. You really should look to the
from header.

There is a set of emails that appears to be regurgitated from 2007.
That set is also being forwarded by Mary Compton.

Aplologies to all.
For the 2nd time in recent weeks, we have the same houseguests. Their
almost 9-year-old is (unfortunately for me) an actual genius (who graduated
from high school last summer and is having to wait to attend
college when he is 11 or 12).
He's also a skilled computer break-in artist who got past the security
on my fedora 12 box (selinux) and as a prank started re-sending my
old saved eamils. That is, the first time I think it was just a
prank while he was playing with my mailer. I balled him out, and I
think it was more on the order of pay-back this time. (Luckily all
the stuff he shouldn't see is encrypted with a VERY secure key - on
another machine that also requires a challeng after the pwd to log in.)
I wasn't here the first time and I think he sent several thousand
posts out. THIS time luckily, I got home just as he was starting,
and he won't be doing that again any time soon. Previously he simply
rebooted, brought the system up in single user mode, changed my
password, and then went multi-user. Now he'll need three passwords
to do that. Less convenient for me, but safer when he's around.
Apologies for the inconvenience. Luckily this time I have only ~ 200
pieces of email to track down ...
(note: temporarily I'm having to use a different machine - and mailer.
so the thread almost certainly will break here ... sorry.)
Thanks,
- wwa

Some years ago I had a similar problem:
Using the Mozilla Suite and a POP mailbox I chose the option to keep the
mails on the server after downloading them.
Probably because of a bug all the mails I kept on the server have been
downloaded twice or three times until I deleted them.
Perhaps William's problem is similar. Perhaps the mails he sent from
2006 to July 2009 are stuck in his outbox and are re-sent whenever he
sends another mail.
Most of the mails seems to have been sent to the list:
But as some of them haven't reached the list, this could be a problem of
his "draft" area.
What ever it is - I hope anyone can reach him. Back in 2005 he used a
different account (please have a look at the archive link).

He probably didn't change the date - the mails are old...
If we can't reach him, this might be a case for "force-unsubscribe" ...
Best regards
Bernhard
Thanks for clearing the matter up.
May I suggest a clear out of these old e-mails from your machine and
then there can be no recurrence of the problem
Thanks
Rob
The first time? My, how parenting styles have changed. I am not saying
I would never have done anything like that growing up (if there had been
home computers when I was growing up) but there certainly would not have
been a second time. The little shit needs some better parents - ones
who know how to use a belt or a paddle.
