Hy Openoffice,
what does your program do ? I have not downloaded yet.

I am looking for a free program that lets me edit and create existing Microsoft powerpoint files, is there such a thing ?

kind regards from Peter

Open Office includes a full suite of programs virtually identical to Microsoft Office ... including a programme which is effectively the same as PowerPoint.

You can set up your computer to open PowerPoint files in Open Office .. so it reads the MS files well ... and, should you need to, you can save any Open Office programme in the Microsoft equivalent.

I find I have to save as MS Word etc when I'm emailing files to friends who haven't mastered opening Open Office files in their MS equivalent.

Don't delay .... Open Office is terrific!

OpenOffice.org is a suite of office programs which is basically a free
of cost replacement for MS Office, including Powerpoint. Also Word,
Excell, Axcess, and Paint. It can read and write to the MS Office
format files.

Did you bother to go to the openoffice.org web site? If not, why?
