However, in trying to get started with Open Office, I discovered that
many of my key data structures are too complex for Visual Basic in
Open Office, even typedefs that include pairs of arrays, which i use
to represent much of the data my code manipulates. Trying to work
around that limitation is pretty daunting.
I'm looking to hire someone to help with this porting project. I'm
guessing that I'll need to convert some of the data structure
definitions and manipulation code into a different language and figure
out how to integrate that code in with my existing VB code. And I'll
probably need some help understanding how my installer needs to work
with Open Office.
I'm in the Santa Cruz area, near Silicon Valley. Please email me if
you are qualified and interested in a fairly short term consulting
job, or if you know someone who is. Open Office Writer programming
experience required, along with some understanding of VB.
