May be interesting......but I do have some funny facts:
* Its as beta as gmail
* Even in beta, it crashed less that winXP, even when I compiled it myself,
even when it fancier in manya aspects
* I don't recall the exact date, but until very recently, it was considered
pre-alpha (and it was rock solid). I think we reached beta around christmas
eve

all in all, I love E =)

Normally, I wouldn't pile onto this.

I have used enlightenment since before imlib existed and e shelled out to
ImageMagik for format conversions. I still kind of miss the little lamps on
the app launcher.

Has there ever been an actual non-development release of enlightenment?

Nope. We are on DR 0.17 now, so a loooong way to go to get to 1.0.
Raster is such a perfectionist. lol

On Gentoo e16 is versioned as 1.0.x :)
