You can reply to an email using a different account by pulling up a Reply or Forward message and then tapping the top-most From: field for a dropdown to change to another maildroid account. It then uses the smtp server for that different account to send your message. Is that what you want?

Is it possible to move an email from one account to another?
If not, can it become a future request?

Thank you

Mail forwarding can do that. There are usually settings wherever you access webmail for that server that allow you to forward mail from their server to another email address. I know gmail has mail forwarding. So do most ISP mailservers.

No I meant that I would like to be able to move an e-mail from one inbox to an inbox on another mail account.

I have several different mail accounts and it isn’t always people are writing to me in the correct inbox.

Thank you.

Okay, maybe if you explain more, we can help. Why does it matter which address the sender uses? Are you afraid you won't see their message? Using the combined inbox ahould prevent that. Do you not want others to know of one of your addresses? Changing the account you send a reply from (like my first suggestion) should fix that. Can you explain more about why it matters which address the sender uses? Also, please use "Reply All" to these messages so the group can see them and not just me. Thanks.

That isn't working for me. I have 12 different e-mail accounts and 12 different inboxes. And would like to keep it that way.

Torben,

If you're accessing your mailboxes via IMAP, IMAP has a move command that
allows a client (MailDroid) to tell the server to move an email from one
folder to another. This does not work between mailboxes.

In order to "move" an email from one mailbox to another, it requires that
the *client* download the email from the source mailbox and upload the email
to the destination mailbox. IMHO, a mobile email client is not a place for
this to occur due to slow/intermittent mobile data connectivity. Use
Outlook or a similar desktop-style mail client to do this as it is expected
to have a more stable Internet connection.

Things like conditional forwarding/redirecting should help you to route
emails to the correct mailbox, but you would need to set that up via your
webmail client.

I am afraid i can't help so i am replying, adding the group so they can see your reply. Please use "Reply All" so the group can also see your message. If you do it right, you will see "mail...@googlegroups.com" also show in the To: box.

No, I think you misunderstand.
I get an e-mail in inbox 1, I check the e-mail and see it concerns subject X, which belongs in subfolder A under inbox 2.
Then I can't move the mail from inbox 1 to inbox 2.

I would also like to be able to do this. It's not a question of replying
from a different account, it's for saving messages.

I have multiple accounts (a personal one, and others for clubs I help
with), and sometimes I get messages to my personal account that are to
do with club business, and which I want to keep. I need to file them in
the club account, so being able to move between accounts is very useful.

Currently I can do this on my desktop using Thunderbird (all the
accounts are IMAP), it would be nice to be able to do it on the phone too.
