Hi,

Yes, sure.

The settings are transferred without any problem: just export them on the old phone, transfer the file to the new one and import them there. Global settings, scroll down to the import/export items.

You could wish to delete the file afterwards since it contains password in clear text.

I doubt that it is possible to transfer the databases, though.

You could try to copy “com.maildroid” folder to the new phone before you install Maildroid there. Then install Maildroid and import the settings. But I don’t think it will work.

I would suggest you using IMAP4 instead of POP3 to access your work email, if it is possible. Or even better EWS, if it is a MS Exchange server. It’s better to store emails on server, not on the phone. J This way you can easily re-download the messages you need at any moment.

Subject: Moving Emails to New Phone

I've been using maildroid for the last couple of years for my work email (Pop3 server).

I have quite a collection of old emails on my old phone and wondered if there is anyway to easily move the databases and settings from the old phone to the new one.

I just did this -- I had to format my phone..
I used Titanium backup.. It backed up Maildroid and all its data..
Later, I just restored it..
Two taps and I was done.. -turgut

I used MailDroid's Export function to create a maildroid-settings.xml file on your root directory of your phone that contains all of your email settings, including passwords.

Warning, this file doesn't encrypt the passwords.

Copy that file to a new phone, save to a removable SD card or your computer, install MailDroid on new phone, run MailDroid's Import settings function to reload from that maildroud-settings.xml file.

Presuming you still have your email messages on the servers, MailDroid will automatically pull down the 25 most recent emails from each mail account.

Titanium Backup works, but only if your phone has been rooted.
