Can I force MailDroid to ONLY Poll an IMAP server (not enable Push)?

I have followed some of the push/poll discussions. I am new to this
App ... downloaded (free version, 2.39 on Feb28) when the new Verizon
Droid Razr Max system upgrade made the installed e.mail client non-
functional to my IMAP account.

I can't figure out how to keep my mobile client (MailDroid) from
continually logging into the IMAP server to establish itself as the
receiver of pushed data. It fights with my desktop client which has
to relogin for almost every new message (because the mobile has done
the same thing while I'm reading a message). I've gone through the
account settings and turned off every notification and download that I
can find. I can't find something that can switch to or control
Polling (frequency of automatically checking for mail ... which I
would set to 'never', if I had the choice). I know that most folks
focus on getting PUSH to actually work ... I need it to STOP.
