Hello,

I have a question about the limits for API calls with MailChimp.
My team estimated that we will have to make a pretty high volume of
API calls per day and so i started to research the problem and found
this: http://apidocs.mailchimp.com/faq/#faq6 but it doesn't really
answer my question.
So i wanted to ask you if there is a daily/monthly limit for API
calls.

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,
Costin

The limits we have are there. Between the connection limits and
throttling we do there is some cap on the number of calls per day, but
I've never bothered trying to calculate the technical cap.

Are you certain you need to make the number of calls you all
calculated? If you explain why you believe that I may be able to
advise on how to shrink that number. Alternately, did you all find and
consider using the batch type methods like listBatchSubscribe?

Hi Jesse
Well I wanted to know if there is a volume limit. I understand that
there are limits if we use more connections per second but i wanted to
know if you have limitations per day/month.
I had a discussion with our programmers and they told me they estimate
an amount of about 6-7000 api requests per day. We include here api
calls for subscribing/unsubscribing users and different updates in our
subscribers' attributes (some of these updates will be made weekly).

Thanks,
Costin

Yes and no. Based on the limits I linked, there's no hard cap on the
number of calls per day. There is technically a limit based on the
number of concurrent connections and calls being made that can be
calculated out. In a simpl form, you could conceivably make 3 calls
per second all day long (3 calls * 86400 seconds/day = 259,200 calls)
without being throttled. However, as documented there, it is applied
on 5 minute intervals, so every call after 900 in a 5 minute period
will be throttled until you are under that again.

I'd suggest you pass the link you posted and this thread on to your
developers and let them do their own math.
