Mailchimp still adding unsubscribe footer when using <a href="*|UNSUB|*">

Hello,

 

we currently have our own unsubscribe solution that we've been using with Mailchimp for quite a long time. Our emails have the <a href="*|UNSUB|*">Remove me from this list</a> tag that prevented the Mailchimp unsubscribe footer from being shown.

However, we noticed recenty that although we're using this tag, Mailchip is now adding its unsubscribe footer.

What is the way to prevent the Mailchimp unsubscribe footer from being added to emails?

Is this even an option? I’d love to have them go to our http://www.livenascarchat.com/lnsc/marketing-messages.do to choose which emails we can and cant send them, this would solve a heck of a lot of synchronization problems we are having.
