Cross-reference an external list with a list on MailChimp to check for duplicates or changes

Currently, my organization maintains its own member database. I would
like the ability to periodically cross-reference subscribers from that
master member list with the MailChimp list in order to locate
duplicates or changes. I have the ability to export the master member
list as a csv file.

Separately, when viewing the subscriber list I noticed that the right
arrow button used to go to the next page is the same size as and just
below the delete button in the last row of the subscribers list. This
is can lead to an accidental deletion especially considering that the
page moves up about 20 pixels when the next page is loaded. At least
that's the case when using Firefox 3.6.13 on WinXP.

I'd probably use the Export API to dump your list and then do whatever
checks you need to locally.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Once I export the list and run the checks locally, how do I import the
list without creating a new list?

Have you found our docs?
http://www.mailchimp.com/api/1.3/

Take a look at listBatchSubscribe() and listBatchUnsubscribe().
