Hello,

if I want to manage multiple customers the best way is create a list
for every one or there are other choices?
Is it better mantain email lists on our db and synch when needed?

I'm new and I'm creating an administration via API

Marco -
If you are going to just use one account the best way is probably to
create a list for each customer. It would be possible to use a single
list, but all merge vars would likely have to be the same, signup our
public signup forms would have to be generic, and you'd need to waste
a segment condition for every campaign.

However, I would not suggest using one account - the best practice
would be to use a separate account for each customer. That way:
* there's never a chance of default account info appearing in a list
that's not fully configured
* you can give customer's access to the account as needed for reports
and other things you may not want to fully replicate
* if you ever need to, it's easy to let the customer take their
account and leave without much hassle

jesse thanks,

I understand the best practice suggested about the first point but
consider the service would be private label and for the brazilian
market there's no translation for mailchimp administration panel.

If I sign up a new account for every customer can I enter every time
the same company email (our)?

Yes, you can use the same email address for multiple accounts if you
go that route.

Regarding private labeling - while we don't disallow it and won't
discourage you from doing that, it is important to understand that we
have put no effort into making our service rebrandable (and have no
plans to do so), so as or if you run into issues such as creating or
updating lists via the API, you're just have going to have to be
creative to work around them.

jesse,

understood. Now I don't want replicate all things allowed via API, the
basic features (subscribe, unsubscribe, reports). All other actions
will be done directly by us via mailchimp panel.

Thanks again

jesse,

you said : "we
have put no effort into making our service rebrandable (and have no
plans to do so)" but seems that the new features for v 4.2 include:

Re-brandable Campaign Reports - Ever need to give someone access to an
email campaign’s stats, but you don’t want to give them full access to
your MailChimp account? Setup a re-brandable reports page w/your own
company logo and color scheme, then send it to them.

For multiple accounts :

Keychain Account Management - Do you manage tons of MailChimp
accounts? You’ll be able to setup a “master keychain” account, with
“keys” that let you quickly log in to each account w/out digging
through all your sticky notes for those pesky passwords.

Very useful!!
