Is there a way to randomly choose a subscriber from a list within Mailchimp, no exporting to an external source?

We need to select one "winner" of a subscriber contest from among our subscribers. The entire project involves looking at a list, choosing one subscriber from that list each day at random, and then notifying them. We're flexible on notification whether that's adding them to another list and setting up an auto-responder or just having an auto-responder for the winner that triggers when they are randomly selected.

If we could just get random selection and notification running it'd be awesome. Having it automatically run each day would be icing on the cake.

Any suggestions?

That's really the sort of thing I'd expect someone to handle on their side along with keeping things in sync:

The notification email is transactional and should be sent as such using something like Mandrill:

If you really think it best to just pick a random member of a list directly you could do it by grabbing the list size using lists() and then pulling a random single page from listMembers (and if you aren't keeping things in sync, pulling their info with listMemberInfo).
