Hello All,

This is my first post here, as a new MailChimp user. My client is
building a site with Drupal, a CMS with a nice MailChimp module that
works quite well.

They will use a MailChimp list to collect subscribers to a premium,
paid newsletter through the Drupal CMS. It all works well up to this.

We would keep the API subscription management, but would like to no
disallow the open subscription. Is there a way to set a list as
"private", so anonymous users can no longer freely subscribe?

Thank you.

Regards,
Gabriel

Not exactly, but if you are willing to be creative with it, there are
some things you can do:

1) Setup one or more hidden merge vars on your list and populate those
with some sort of "key". Then when you send, make sure to always use a
segment that requires that field to be a certain value. You could even
change it occasionally to feel even better about that.
2) Change you list's forms to be advanced forms - setup the normal
subscribe form to be a placeholder page or a redirect. You may want to
do the same with other forms as well, though don't break your
unsubscribe form.
