Hi,

I'm using "listSubscribe" API function and it works fine.
Since I can't send immediately emails after signup* and MailChimp
suggest to use "Final Welcome" Email as workaround, I'm wondering if
it's possible to use this "final welcome" when I'm using the API
subscribing. Since I use the APIs, I don't use the MC subscribing
forms.
Has anyone ever tried it? Will it work?

Thanks

Yup, sure can. The easiest was is to use the "send_welcome" flag in
v1.2 of the API
http://groups.google.com/group/mailchimp-api-announce/browse_thread/thread/4ef3f7a748e86bda

Another method is to use a transactional campaign, but it is much more
involved:
http://www.mailchimp.com/api/examples/transactional-campaigns.php

Thank you very much. I now use this flag and it works to me.

It seems that I can't remove the body of the final welcome email. It's quite a problem...

You can edit your list's Final Welcome email by logging in to the web
app, going to your List's Forms, then selecting the "Final Welcome
Email" from the dropdown in the top left.

If you need more control than that allows, you'll need to switch to
using "Advanced Mode". Note that if you are going to do that on a list
that is in use, you'll probably want to build out all the forms/emails/
etc on a test list, then move them over to the active list all at once
when nothing should be going on.

If you have issues with any of that, he...@mailchimp.com is a better
place to get support.

Thanks!

Where is the "advanced mode"?

Do you mean to "build it" or "design it"?

Actually, I'd prefer to remove "For your records, here is a copy of the information you submitted to us..." text. Is it possible?

The link to switch to "Advanced Mode" is underneath the pane where you
are editing your forms. Once you do that, you can customize everything
you need to.

Thanks indeed, I'm using now the advanced mode and it's working.
One more question: it always attached a vcf file to the Welcome email. It contains private data. Is it possible to remove it from sent emails?

Sorry to cut you off here, but I really do need you to take non-API
related questions to he...@mailchimp.com . I will happily work with you
on any more API related issues you may run into.

I understand. I found its answer. Thanks.

Last one: How do I register my company as an API expert?

Fill this out:
http://www.mailchimp.com/manage-experts/expert-form.php

I can't help speed up the process or find out what's going on with it,
so send that through help@ if you need to. I do know they can take a
little while to get approved.

Morning,

Can I send a URL to the "listSubscribe" function, so I could put this URL inside the welcome email.
I'm reading now the manual (http://www.mailchimp.com/api/1.2/listsubscribe.func.php) but I'm not sure it's possible. Is there any merge_vars field I can use?

I must send this URL since it's unique URL who generated for each user separately.

Thanks

You can do that by setting a merge var with listSubscribe() and then
using that in your Welcome email just like you would in a campaign.

Thanks.

I've already implemented it this morning. I used the "web URL" field and it works great.
