Hi everyone,

I need help to set up the notion of a Secondary Net in the Solaris
DHCP server .

This concept has the following synonyms:
in ISC as a Shared Networks
in Cisco CNR as Secondary Nets
in INCOGNITO IP Commander as Adjacent Networks

By a Secondary Network / Shared Networks / Adjacent Networks
I mean:
( I will use a particular example of a Host or CPE ( customer
premise equipment ) behind a cable modem )
In the process of requesting a new IP address:
- it puts a broadcast requiring an IP address.
- This request reaches a CMTS ( Cable Modem Termination
System that acts as a Bootp relay agent )
- the CMTS sets in the request one of its GIADDR ( Gateway IP
address, most probably a virtual network interfase ); and
- sends the a packet directly to the Solaris DHCP server.

This GIADDR would determine what I call the Primary Network
( presumably in a private network ).

Nonetheless I'd like to set an IP address to the host/CPE in a
different network than the one where the GIADDR is
( probably a Public Network ).

This address would be in what I call a Secondary Network
( in respect to the Primary Net defined by the CMTS ).

Could anyone tell me if the Solaris DHCP implementation
( bundled with Solaris OS 10 )?

If anyone can answer me this it would be fo great help.

Thanks
