The new Solaris[TM] 9 Operating Environment (Solaris OE)
manageability features include the Solaris[TM] 9 Resource Manager
software, Sun[TM] ONE Directory Server 5.1 (formerly the
iPlanet[TM] Directory Server) and a patch manager.

StarOffice[TM] 6.0 Office Suite and StarSuite[TM] 6.0 Office
Suite are two new Sun Open Net Environment (Sun ONE) offerings
that run on the Solaris[TM] Operating Environment (Solaris OE),
Linux and Microsoft Windows. The software supports XML-based file
formats for compatibility and flexibility while improving
interoperability with the exchange of Microsoft Office files.

Sun[TM] Management Center software 3.0 now offers the Performance
Reporting Manager add-on package which enables customers to
generate reports and graphs on an enterprise level based on the
data collected by Sun Management Center software. It helps with
planning resources and identifying problems to lower TCO and
respond quickly to changes in business. New part numbers will be
introduced for the Enterprise Suite options. As a result, the old
Enterprise Suite part numbers will be EOL'd.
6717 Repricing Of Miscellaneous Solaris[TM] 8 OE Part Numbers

Currently available Solaris[TM] 8 Operating Environment (Solaris
OE) Upgrade licenses are being repriced to align them more
closely with the Solaris 9 OE licensing and pricing structure. In
addition, changes to the Free Solaris[SM] Binary License program
will require the introduction of additional levels of the
Right-to-Use upgrade licenses. To compensate for low demands,
repricing of select media kits and documentation sets is also
being announced.
