Domain name deadline today (Canada)

Businesses failing to re-register Web addresses could lose Internet homes

By SHELLEY LAWSON -- London Free Press

LONDON, Ont. -- Thousands of Canadian businesses could be without an
Internet home today and employees without e-mail after failing to
re-register their Web addresses with a new manager for Canada's online
address book.

As of Wednesday, 47,000 holders of Canadian domain names -- Internet
addresses ending in .ca -- hadn't re-registered with the Canadian
Internet Registry Authority (CIRA), a new federal agency handling the
job.
