Does anyone have any authoritative information on what will happen to VCR's
when the rollover date hits. Or any information on how to check to find out.
Or information on a website where brand and model data could be found? We
have about 25 in the building of various makes, models and ages. However, we
only use two or three of them to tape off the air.

Someone told me that some VCR's will die and not be able to be fixed when
their clock tells them it is 2000. Most of our machines get unplugged
everytime they are used and it seems to me that the clock then has to be reset
should you need to use it to tape from the air. So I don't see that the clock
would cause the machine to fail for use as a player if I simply made sure
everything was unplugged before I went home for the holidays.

I realize this is a small problem compared to some others we could face, and
I don't intend to spend hours and hours running tests. But if something
simple could make the difference between having to replace the machines (read
going without) and keeping them going a while longer, I'd like to know about
it.
