technical assistance to states, school districts, and schools in
Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and the District
of Columbia. Assistance efforts focus on comprehensive education
reform and school improvement initiatives, and is primarily given to
districts and schools with a high percentage of children in poverty.
Major service focus areas include:
* parent and community involvement;
* safe and drug-free learning environments;
* school reform and improvement;
* standards and assessment, and
* teaching and learning.
The R3CC is operated by the George Washington University Center for
Equity and Excellence in Education, and is funded by the U.S.
Department of Education. R3CC coordinates its work with other R&D
centers, resource organizations, and technical assistance providers.
