Hello,

I am trying to find a free email service for POP3 email that I can check
with Outlook Express, but also has web-based access so I can check my
messages while on the road. It has to have the following requirements...

- Must be run by a trustworthy company instead of a computer geek that
started a service to read everyone's email.

- At least 15 Megs of space.

- No file attachment size limitations. If there is, it needs to be at least
3-5 Megs.

- Attractive interface.

- Reliability, Security, Privacy, and Speed.

- Spell Checker.

- Virus Scan.

- Time adjustment so I can tell what time messages were received and sent in
my time zone.

- Maybe other free options like a program that checks the email and alerts
you if you have new messages, voicemail, etc.

Please don't respond to this and tell me about Hotmail or Yahoo! as they
both suck. Hotmail only gives you 2 Megs of space and Yahoo! gives only 6
Megs. Both only allow file attachment sizes of up to 1 Meg. Lycos does
offer 15 Megs and I am still playing with it to see how well they work. I
am not interested in making money by sending email so don't recommend none
of those services please.

http://www.mailandnews.com/ offers POP3 and web-based email. Both ways of
accessing it are very fast. If you use the web-based part, messages are
time stamped in their time zone and is apparently unchangeable unless you
check your mail with Outlook Express or a similar program then the messages
are time stamped in your time zone. The size of a mailbox is 10 Megs and
you can send as many attachments as you want as long as you don't hit your
10 Meg limit. Their web-based email page is nice and attractive. Newsgroup
access is also available, but only through the web-based interface. This is
currently my favorite free service at the moment.

http://www.arabia.com/ offers POP3 and web-based email. Both ways of
accessing it are very fast. If you use the web-based part, messages are
time stamped in their time zone and is apparently unchangeable unless you
check your mail with Outlook Express or a similar program then the messages
are time stamped in your time zone. Also, they will not allow file
attachment sizes in excess of 1.5 Megs. Their web-based email page is nice
and attractive.

http://www.softhome.net/ has free POP3 email that seems to be nice and fast,
but their web-based email is UGLY and very very S-L-O-W... It is nice that
they give you 30 Megs of space though.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
BTJustice

Take a look at our new email service, the Runbox Mail Manager. It has
webmail, mobile mail, POP3, unlimited forwarding to other addresses and
wireless units, filtering, plus retrieval from other POP-accounts. It is
both free - and free of advertising. And you get 100
MB of storage space. We'll also be adding more features like auto
replies and virus scans, shortly.

Liz
