On behalf of the Municipal Archives Interest Group (MAIG), I am pleased to invite you to a virtual workshop developed in partnership with The Brown Homestead that will provide practical instruction on using the Ontario Land Registry's online platform,
ONLand.
Since the closure of the land registry offices to the public in October 2020, archives have experienced a growing demand for support in navigating the OnLand platform to access land records for property research. This full-day virtual workshop will provide
an overview of the land registry system in Ontario, offer hands-on guidance for accessing and interpreting Abstract Index Books, and showcase the website’s advanced features.
Workshop: OnLand: The Ontario Land Registry Platform (maximum 30 participants)
Date: Wednesday, March 11, 2026
Time: 9:30am - 4pm (with a break for lunch)
Location: Online via Zoom (link to be sent a few days prior to workshop)
Cost: $50
To ensure that the course is as relevant as possible, we invite you to submit any questions ahead of time, and to indicate which LROs or regions you typically research. You can do this in the signup form when registering, or you can email me directly. Please
have any questions submitted to us by February 9, 2026, so we can prepare accordingly.
