Good News Everyone,

We have just received confirmation that we have been accepted into PiWars 2017!
We will be competing in the Intermediate category, which will be on Sunday 2nd April.

All team members will get free entry to the event on the 2nd, and are also are permitted to spectate the Schools/Educational teams on the 1st April.

If you are interested in taking part in this project make yourself known here in this thread and mention anything you'd like to do or any skills you might have (e.g., Robot, Sensor or Raspberry Pi experience) and familiarise yourself with the Rules and Regulations, along with the details of all the challenges over at www.piwars.org.

I'm sure we'll get a chance to discuss this at the next meet up.

Great news. I of course will want to be a part of this. Extensive sensor and MCU coding experience.

Mike

It would look like we are currently looking at a 4.5 person team, Simon, Oly, Michael and Myself (and my Offspring #1).

Mike suggested that we get together one day at a weekend to thrash out what we need to do, I would agree as a normal evening is just not long enough.

I realise we're getting towards Christmas, and weekends are rapidly filling up, so December is probably out, but we really do need to get a move on.

Let me know your thoughts/availability.

Happy to make the time whenever suites others. What are peoples availability for November the 19th or 20th?

Kind Regards

Simon

It's a short Jam so I doubt there will be time there. We would need a few hours at least I think. Plus I'll be busy at the Jam running workshops.

19th, 20th is fine with me.

I can also do 27th.

Mike

Last night we arranged to meet on Sunday 20th November.

Simon will send details of the location once it has been confirmed, but we are looking at meeting from around 1000/1100 until about 1600.

If anyone else wants to be involved/come along, please respond here.

For those attending, can you confirm in this email please, as the complex requires to know all attendees.

Maidstone Hackspace has gone VERY quite lately.

We need to get parts ordered. I know Ian has ordered a few bits but has done so from his own money. We still need sensors and other bits to order.

So, let's ascertain what bits we need to get and get them ordered ASAP.

Sorry I've been busy organising Christmas with family.

I'll chat to you guys on Google messenger after work and see what else needs buying and reimburse Ian.

Simon

I think its unavoidable with christmas around the corner, we can discuss later. to me seems the most important thing to have is the platform so we can plan where parts go and get a basic moving robot then add to it once we have a base.
