Call for trustees and update on the space

We are looking for new trustees, unfortunately the current trustees do not have the time to keep the space and room running.

We will need at least 2 members to step up as trustees to keep the current room going.

If this does not happen we will look to shut down the physical space and go back to becoming a virtual space, with the plan of storing the assets for any future space that may start up again in the future, as a virtual space we can still do pub meets or meetings at peoples homes if they are willing to host.

We will hold a virtual meeting on the 13th of may at 19:00 for people to join and discuss the next steps based on the response we get, a link will be posted in the chat room.

Hi from your "learning tech" member! I have been so horrendously busy in lock down that I have not seen this till tonight! (Only seen it now as I am up with a medical problem, not Covid thankfully!)  I do not know how to use the chat room so can you please update me on where I can bring my tech for tech advice and learning in future. Some advice on how to use the chat room might be good too!

Hi Jackie,

Sorry to hear you have not been well hopefully you are feeling better in regards to the space,

Everything is up in the air at the moment, the space is not doing meeting because of social distancing but the a few members have used it by themselves, as for the chat https://about.riot.im/ should have a link for the device your using to gain access once you have an account set up, this link should then work o  the same device https://riot.im/app/#/group/+maidstone-hackspace:matrix.org.

Hopefully that helps, if you still struggle let me know what kind of device you are using and how far you for and I can see what I can do to help.
