I was just wondering as someone who has never visited a hack space, what sort of equipment and tools do you have available? am looking to do metal and wood work.

Hi qtpie,

We have 3d printers general hand tools and soldering irons and other electronics equipment available at the space.
We are not really set up for wood and metal currently Its something we definitely want to do but we are limited by the space we can afford currently, we are open to buying equipment for the space if its useful and there is demand among the members.

A lot of hackspaces do have wood and metal working but its down to the space and number of members so many do what we have done and grow to have that type of equipment.

Woodworking I have some interest in so would like to see some better equipment for that I can only fit so much in a garage :)

Hi Oly.

What 3d printers do you have? I have a geeetech but would appreciate some quick lessons on slicing and model building.

Hi Jeffery,

We have a taz 4 and a mingda I am sure there are definitely people that can help you out there with modelling and slicing and we all use slightly different tools so you may learn about other methods as well.

also got a couple of us building printers slowly, and improving the ones we have :)

Hiya,

Not in North Kent.

We're obviously trying to expand the kit we have available, and would love to be able to offer wood and metal working.

The nearest space is south London makerspace, they have lots of woodworking kit, not sure how much metal working.
