Hey guys,

Thanks for being so welcoming tonight, I had a good time fiddling with the Arduino; sparked my interest again :)

Does anyone have any recommendations for wireless arduino communication? I was thinking a few temperature sensors around the lat and near the hamster cage etc. Many moons ago I remember reading about Zigbee and stuff like that but I haven't got the foggiest anymore...

See you all at the next event!

James take a look at the 433MHz module such as the RFM69CW. They offer very low power consumption and good range, Many remote sensor nodes use these and have battery life in the YEARS.

Check out the JeeNode, Jeelab and JeeCafe websites for full info.

I've used these in several projects myself and with the jeelab library have made devices that have superb battery life.
