Probably a noob question but how is MAID (as sold by Poloniex) related to Safecoin?

Hi Ann, 

MAID was issued and sold as a temporary token to find the development during the crowdsale in early 2014. When SAFEnetwork is live, MAID will be exchanged for Safecoin 1 for 1. Anyone will then also be able to "farm" Safecoin by sharing computer resources with the network.

Early release token to be swapped on a 1:1 basis when safecoin goes live. It was used to fund development till now and attract a community. So it's a temporary coin to be exchanged, it that makes sense.
